African Services Committee - HIV Legal Services Program
 
WHO WE ARE
From our headquarters in Harlem, we provide direct services to over 7,000 individuals each year. All of our services are free and available to all nationalities, regardless of immigration status. Our HIV Legal Services Program provides civil legal assistance to low-income, HIV-positive individuals, their families, and caretakers of children whose parents have died of AIDS. We offer counseling, advice, and legal representation in the following areas of practice: Housing, Public Benefits, Consumer Law, Health Care and Patients' Rights, Family Law, and Wills and Advanced Directives.

 Monday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
 Tuesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
 Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
 Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
 Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
  Bring proof of HIV status, such as an M11Q, a doctor's letter or lab report, and the documents related to the legal problem.

We prioritize African immigrants and members of the African diaspora
Languages Spoken:  French, Haitian Creole, Amharic, Spanish
Languages for which interpreters can be provided: Any of the following languages: Bambara/Mandingo/Malenke/Wolof/Dogon/Soninke/Pulaar/Attie/Douala/Fulani/Senoufo/Luganda/Bemba/Tonga/Medumba
Wheelchair Accessible: N
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  HIV positive
  or related to an HIV positive individual
