Manhattan Legal Services (formerly Harlem Legal Services, Inc.) - HIV/AIDS Project
 
WHO WE ARE
Manhattan Legal Services provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income residents of Manhattan who are not able to afford the cost of a private attorney. The HIV/AIDS Unit provides legal representation, advice and referrals to people living with HIV and AIDS on a variety of civil matters. All services are confidential. HIV/AIDS staff is available to present workshops on legal issues of concern to people living with HIV/AIDS, their caretakers and service providers.

HOW TO GET HELP
   To contact this group, CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT. 212-348-7449, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
 
Location: 55 West 125th Street, New York, NY 10027
Cross Streets: between Lenox Avenue and 5th Avenue
Directions: Subway - 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or D to 125th Street. Walk west to 55 West 125th. Bus - M100, M101, M2 or M7
Bring proof of HIV status, proof of income, and any other documents related to your legal problem.
Appointments are usually given within 2 to 3 days.

  Your family's income should be at or below 187.5% of the poverty level.

If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
